Catch The Action: Busy Week In FSU Athletics
Big Rapids, Mich. - It's a very busy week for Ferris State University Athletics as the Bulldogs will be hosting events in multiple sports this week, including games in potentially four venues on Saturday (Nov. 12) alone.
The women's basketball team starts off the slate by facing the Calvin Knights in an exhibition contest at Jim Wink Arena on Tuesday (Nov. 8) night with tipoff set for 7 p.m. (ET) in Big Rapids. The Bulldog men will also square off against Calvin on the road at 7:30 p.m. (ET) in Grand Rapids.
On Thursday (Nov. 10), the nationally 12th-ranked Ferris State volleyball team opens Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Tournament action by taking on Wayne State in the quarterfinal round at the Ewigleben Sports Arena. Match time is set for 7 p.m. (ET). With a win in Thursday's quarterfinals, the top-seeded Bulldogs would also host the GLIAC Tournament Semifinals and Finals on Saturday and Sunday (Nov. 12-13) in Big Rapids with times to be announced.
Ferris State Hockey, which is ranked eighth nationally this week, returns home to battle Lake Superior State in a matchup of ranked 8-2 teams on Friday and Saturday (Nov. 11-12) at the Ewigleben Ice Arena. Opening faceoff both nights is at 7:05 p.m. (ET). The first 500 fans on Friday night will receive a foam, limited edition collector's Bulldog Hockey puck.
On Saturday, the Ferris State football team will play its final game of the 2011 campaign when FSU entertains the Northwood Timberwolves in a 2 p.m. (ET) league tilt. It will be "Dog Day" with all fans encouraged to bring their dog to the game as FSU teams up with The Riley MacKenzie Fund to help local animals. The Bulldogs will also honor nine seniors prior to their last collegiate contest.
Saturday will be a busy day as the slate features FSU football versus Northwood at 2 p.m. (ET) followed by the women's basketball regular-season opener against Lewis (Ill.) inside Wink Arena at 6 p.m. (ET) with the hockey series' finale versus LSSU beginning at 7:05 p.m. (ET). There could potentially be additional action should the volleyball team host the GLIAC Tournament Semifinals inside the Ewigleben Sports Arena.
Besides the home events, the Bulldog men's basketball team will also officially open their 2011-12 campaign this weekend as FSU visits Michigan on Friday night to face the Wolverines in the season opener at Crisler Arena in Ann Arbor. The Bulldogs play a second consecutive Division I opponent the following night as Ferris travels to Mt. Pleasant to face Central Michgian on Saturday evening. Both games begin at 7 p.m. (ET).
Fans will be able to follow the action live on the Bulldog Sports Network with selected games on Sunny 97.3 FM. The local flagship station will carry the men's basketball game against Michigan on Friday, Bulldog football on Saturday and hockey on Saturday night. Pregame coverage starts 30 minutes prior to each game.
Friday's home hockey game and Saturday's men's hoops contest at Central Michigan will be available over the internet only at www.FerrisStateBulldogs.com. A live audio and video pay-per-view webcast will also be offered for the home football and hockey games with the possibility of additional volleyball coverage.

The ticket office will also offer extended hours until 7 p.m. (ET) on Wednesday's throughout the season and be open on hockey home game Saturday's at 12 p.m. (ET).
