Notre Dame Series Radio Commercial
Big Rapids, Mich. - For the second consecutive week, the nationally-ranked Ferris State University men's ice hockey squad will square off against another ranked foe to open a Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) home-and-home series.
The ninth-ranked Bulldogs host seventh-ranked Notre Dame on Friday (Dec. 9) night at FSU's Ewigleben Ice Arena in Big Rapids. The puck will drop at 7:05 p.m. (ET). The two teams will then play the series' finale on Saturday (Dec. 10) evening in South Bend, Ind.
Friday's home contest represents the Bulldogs' final home outing of the 2011 calendar year. It comes on the heels of last Friday's series opener against nationally-ranked Western Michigan, which drew a crowd of 2,302 fans.
Additionally, Friday's home game will also feature the annual Toys for Tots "Teddy Bear Toss". Fans are encouraged to bring new or gently used stuffed animals to the game and throw it on to the ice after the first Bulldog goal. The Teddy Bears and/or stuffed animal(s) collected will go directly to benefit needy children in the area for the Christmas Holiday.
Fans can also signup between now and Thursday (Dec. 8) at Snyder's Market for Ferris State's "Spark The Excitement, Spark The Horn" promotion, which will give lucky Bulldog fans an opportunity to possibly experience one of Bulldog Hockey's most sacred traditions. Any fan can signup prior to gameday at Snyder's Market this week for a chance to spark the horn.
