Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University Athletics Department is offering a free fan bus to Kalamazoo for the nationally top-ranked Bulldogs' final regular-season hockey road tilt of the season against the Western Michigan Broncos next Friday, Feb. 24.
Transportation to the game is free, but fans will be responsible for the cost of their own game ticket, which is $15 dollars. The school (not charter) bus or buesses will leave the west side of the sports complex at 4:30 p.m. on the day of the game, which begins at 7:05 p.m. (ET) at WMU's Lawson Ice Arena.
The first 80 people to register and pay will be able to make the trip with all availability on a first come, first serve basis. Those interested in making the trip should call the FSU Athletics Ticket Office at (231) 591-2888 for more information.
The deadline to signup for those wishing to make the trip will be this coming Monday (Feb. 20) at 12 p.m. (ET).
Next Friday's game is the opening contest of a Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) home-and-home series between the league's top two teams. FSU currently has 47 points in the CCHA standings and leads the league with four regular-season games remaining while the Broncos are second with 42 points heading into this weekend's action. Additionally, Ferris State is the nation's top-ranked team this week in all three major college hockey polls and has not lost in the New Year while sporting the nation's longest current unbeaten streak at 12 games (9-0-3).
Prior to next weekend's series against the Broncos, the Bulldogs are home this weekend (Feb. 17-18) for a two-game CCHA series against the Bowling Green Falcons. The puck is slated to drop at 7:05 p.m. (EDT) for both contests inside the Ewigleben Ice Arena. FSU will host Western Michigan in the regular-season finale next Saturday (Feb. 25) also at 7:05 p.m.
Tickets for all 2011-12 Bulldog home regular-season games can be purchased in advance by contacting the FSU Athletics Ticket Office at (231) 591-2888. The FSU Athletics Ticket Office's normal hours of operation are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (ET) weekdays. The ticket office will also offer extended hours until 7 p.m. (ET) on Wednesday and Thursday's throughout the remainder of the regular-season and be open on hockey home game Saturday's at 12 p.m. (ET).
