Ferris State Hockey Hosts Ryerson In Sunday Exhibition Game

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's ice hockey team, which reached the 2012 NCAA Frozen Four National Championship game, will kick off its 35th season of intercollegiate competition this Sunday, Oct. 7, with an exhibition contest against the Ryerson University Rams in Big Rapids, Mich. A 3:05 p.m. (EDT) start is slated for the encounter at FSU's Ewigleben Ice Arena.

The FSU Athletics Ticket Office is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (EDT) and on gamedays starting at 12 p.m. (ET).  The office will offer extended hours on Wednesday's until 7 p.m. (ET) throughout the season.

This season, fans can save on single-game tickets by purchasing in advance rather than waiting until gameday.

Complimentary parking will be offered to all fans for Sunday's exhibition game along with a special magnet giveaway.

The Bulldogs are the defending Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) Regular-Season Champions and finished as the national runner-up in Division I college hockey last season.

FSU was tabbed 11th in this year's USCHO.com National Preseason Poll along with 14th by the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine.

Meanwhile, Ryerson University currently owns a 2-3 overall mark this fall and will visit Lake Superior State on Saturday (Oct. 6) night prior to facing the Bulldogs.  The Rams recorded a 15-19-3 overall record a year ago.

Following Sunday's exhibition, the Bulldogs officially open the regular-season on the road Oct. 12-13 at RPI.  The regular-season home opener is on Oct. 19 when FSU hosts Mercyhurst in a two-game weekend series at the Ewigleben Ice Arena.
