Ticket Sales Strong & Limited Seats Remain For Last CCHA Regular-Season Home Series
Big Rapids, Mich. - Limited tickets remain and are selling quickly for the Ferris State University men's ice hockey team's last-ever Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) regular-season home series slated for Friday and Saturday, Feb. 15-16, against the Bowling Green State Falcons at FSU's Ewigleben Ice Arena.
Due to the high popularity of Bulldog Hockey and the fact the weekend tilt will represent the last home action for FSU during regular-season play in the 42-year history of the CCHA, potential sellout crowds are once again expected for both games. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets as soon as possible because of the high demand.
The special "Buy One, Get One Free" ticket offer is officially sold out for Saturday's regular-season home finale while only a limited number of the ticket specials remain for Friday's opening game of the series. As part of the special, fans can purchase a regular-priced $12 adult ticket and get one free. All promotional ticket offers are only available in advance thru the FSU Athletics Ticket Office and based on availability.
The puck will drop on Friday, Feb. 15, at 7:05 p.m. (ET) for the opening game of the weekend set and is being billed as "International Night" sponsored by the Office of International Education. The night's activities will also include a special team picture giveaway along with a "Frozen Four" poster drawing.
Meanwhile, the final contest on Saturday, Feb. 16, will serve as FSU's annual "Senior Night" game with Fox Sports Detroit set to broadcast the contest live as part of "Hockey Day In Michigan" coverage beginning at 5:05 p.m. (ET). Tickets are already extremely limited for the last regular-season home game in the CCHA.
Ferris State fans are encouraged to wear red, come early and cheer loud for the Bulldogs as part of a "Red Out" effort on Feb. 16. FSU will honor its senior class during a special "Senior Night" pregame ceremony and the first 500 fans will receive free thundersticks. A special "Skate with the Dawgs" event will also take place following the regular-season home finale.
The Bulldogs have presently sold out 10 of their last 18 home games dating back to last season, including four of the past seven outings at the Ewigleben Ice Arena this campaign.
Most recently, FSU drew 2,537 fans for its shootout victory over nationally sixth-ranked league leader Western Michigan last Saturday (Feb. 2) night.
While the Feb. 15-16 series marks the final two league regular-season games against the Falcons, the two teams will remain future opponents in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) beginning next season. A year ago, the Falcons captured a best-of-three CCHA second round playoff series by beating FSU in Big Rapids to advance to Joe Louis Arena.
Fans can purchase advance tickets for the Bowling Green State series and save over the normal gameday rates by visiting the FSU Athletics Ticket Office located inside the Ewigleben Sports Complex or by calling (231) 591-2888. Normal business hours are Monday thru Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (ET) with extended hours on Wednesday's until 7 p.m. (ET).
