Tickets On Sale For Bulldog Hockey's CCHA Playoff Series At Ohio State
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University Athletics Ticket Office has announced a limited number of tickets are currently on sale for Bulldog fans wanting to follow the men's ice hockey team to next week's Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) second round playoff series against the Ohio State Buckeyes in Columbus, Ohio.
The fifth-seeded Bulldogs will square off against the fourth-seeded Buckeyes in a best-of-three series at the OSU Ice Rink on March 15-17. Both Friday and Saturday's games, along with Sunday if necessary, are slated for 7:05 p.m. (ET) starts.
Due to scheduling conflicts, the playoff series will be held at the OSU Ice Rink, which seats less than 1,000 fans, on the Ohio State campus. A very limited number of tickets have been made available for Bulldog fans to purchase and priority for the ticket allotment will go to Ferris State team and official travel party, Bulldog season ticket holders and FSU "Dawg Pound" student season ticket holders.
All tickets are general admission and prices are $11 for adults and $6 for students per game.
Bulldog fans must purchase tickets by Monday, March 11, at 12 p.m. (ET). Tickets can be purchased by calling the FSU Athletics Ticket Office at (231) 591-2888 or by visiting the box office located inside the Ewigleben Ice Arena. The ticket office will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (ET) today thru Friday and offer extended hours on Wednesday until 7 p.m.
The winner of the second-round series will advance to the CCHA Semifinals at Joe Louis Arena on Saturday, March 23. The CCHA Championship game will take place on Sunday, March 24, in Detroit at 2:05 p.m. (ET). The league's tournament champion receives an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament.
Earlier this year (Jan. 11-12), the Bulldogs split a pair of regular-season matchups against Ohio State at the Ewigleben Ice Arena in Big Rapids. Both games were determined by identical 3-1 scores with the Buckeyes capturing the win in game one followed by a Bulldog victory in the series finale.
This season marks the fourth year in a row in which FSU has received a first-round bye. Over the past four seasons, Ferris State and Miami are the only two CCHA members to receive a first-round playoff bye in each of the four campaigns.
This year's CCHA Tournament represents the last in the 42-year history of the league. Ferris State has advanced to the CCHA Championship Semifinals at Joe Louis Arena four previous times in 1990-91, 1992-93, 2002-03 and 2009-10.
For those Ferris State fans not able to make the trip to Columbus, the second-round playoff series will air live on Sunny 97.3 FM and the Bulldog Sports Network online at FerrisStateBulldogs.com. Dominic Hennig and Dan Kowalski will call the action live starting with the Bush Insurance Pregame Show each night beginning at 6:30 p.m. (ET) from the OSU Ice Rink.
