Men's Tennis Caps Off Successful Weekend With Shutout Victory
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's tennis squad picked up its fifth consecutive win and remained unbeaten in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play with a convincing 9-0 shutout victory over Findlay on Sunday (Feb. 24) at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center.
The Bulldogs capped off a highly-successful weekend with their third in in as many days and fourth over a five-day span by handling the Oilers indoors.
Ferris State improved its record to 6-1 overall and 3-0 in league action under first-year head coach Chad Berryhill with the triumph.
The Bulldogs made quick work of the Oilers in doubles action by winning the three flights 8-6, 8-4 and 8-2, respectively.
Then, in singles competition, the Bulldogs captured all five positions with five of the matches ending in straight-sets.
Ferris State is now idle until March 21 when the Bulldogs visit NCAA Division I Western Michigan for a non-league encounter at 6 p.m. (ET) in Kalamazoo.
FSU's next league match is set for March 23 at home against Lake Superior State at 11 a.m. (ET) in Big Rapids.
