FSU's Anna Rudd Tabbed As GLIAC Runner Of The Week

Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University senior Anna Rudd (Leslie) has been tabbed as this week's Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) women's indoor track and field "Runner of the Week" as announced by the league office.

Rudd won the women's mile run and the 3,000 meters as the Bulldogs opened second semester action at the Central Michigan Open last Friday (Jan. 11) night in Mt. Pleasant, Mich. She claimed first place in the mile with a time of 5:08.34 and won the 3,000 in a national provisional qualification time of 10:02.99 overall.

Earlier this season, she reached a national provisional mark in the 5,000 meters at the Grand Valley State Laker Early Bird held on Nov. 30 in Allendale.

Rudd's two first-place finishes were among four title efforts for the Bulldogs at the CMU Open on Friday.  Overall, the Bulldogs had 27 finishers among the top eight performers in their respective events in the men's and women's competition.

This week, the Bulldogs take part in the Grand Valley State Mike Lints Laker Open on Friday (Jan. 18) in Allendale.
