Match Times & Ticket Info Announced For NCAA Midwest Regional Volleyball Tourney Dec. 1-3

Big Rapids, Mich. - Ticket prices and match times have been set for the 2016 NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Volleyball Tournament, which will be hosted by Ferris State University on Dec. 1-3 in Big Rapids.

Ferris State, which is seeded first overall in the field, will go up against the tourney's number-eight seed Truman State (Mo.) on Thursday, Dec. 1, in quarterfinal-round action at FSU's Jim Wink Arena.  It will be the third of four quarterfinal matches at 5 p.m. (ET).

Top-seeded Ferris State will host the regional tournament next Thursday to Saturday. Semifinals will take place on Friday night with the championship match on Saturday. FSU will host the regional tournament for the second-straight year after last year marked FSU's first home NCAA postseason action since beating Gannon in the 1989 regional final. This season will represent only the fifth time in school history the Bulldogs have hosted NCAA tournament competition.

Tickets are on sale and will be $5 for adults and $2 for children in grades K-12 or $3 for college students of the competing teams with a valid ID card. The prices are based per day. Ferris State will be making its sixth consecutive NCAA Tournament bid and has advanced to at least the regional semifinals each of the last five years. FSU's upcoming regional appearance will represent the program's 21st all-time.

FSU, which is coached by 21st-year head coach Tia Brandel-Wilhelm, is presently 28-5 overall this campaign.

The Bulldogs finished the regular-season as GLIAC Champions for the third-straight year with a 16-1 league mark. It was the sixth-straight year in which FSU finished either first or second in the conference.  

Along with winning this year's GLIAC regular-season crown, Ferris State also captured the 2016 GLIAC Tournament Championship for the third consecutive year on Sunday (Nov. 20) as FSU topped Ashland to earn the program's fourth tourney title in school history.

The Division II Women's Volleyball Committee selected a total of 64 teams to participate in the 2016 Division II Women's Volleyball Championship. Eight teams were selected from each of the following eight regions: Atlantic, Central, East, Midwest, South, South Central, Southeast and West.

The eight, eight-team regionals will be played at on-campus sites. Regional competition will be single-elimination, best three-of-five-set matches and will not include a third-place match. The winners of each of the eight regionals will advance to the finals, Dec. 8-10, in Sioux Falls, S.D. Competition at the finals site will be single-elimination; best three-of-five-set matches.

Three years ago, the Bulldogs captured the Midwest Regional Championship to advance to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight and the national quarterfinal round.

12:00 p.m. - Match 1: #2 Findlay vs. #7 Cedarville
2:30 p.m. - Match 2: #3 Lewis vs. #6 Ashland
5:00 p.m. - Match 3: #1 Ferris State vs. #8 Truman State
7:30 p.m. - Match 4: #4 Rockhurst vs. #5 Saginaw Valley State

Friday, Dec 2 - Semifinal Matches:
5 p.m. - Winner Match #1 vs. Winner Match #2
7:30 p.m. - Winner Match #3 vs. Winner Match #4

Saturday's (Dec. 3) championship is set for a 5:00 p.m. start.
