FSU Soccer Faces GVSU In GLIAC Tourney Semifinals Friday
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's soccer team will square off against archrival Grand Valley State in the 2012 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Tournament Semifinals on Friday (Nov. 2) afternoon at the Laker Soccer Field in Allendale.
The Bulldogs advanced to the semifinals for the second time in school history by beating Findlay on the road in a 2-1 quarterfinal-round decision on Tuesday (Oct. 30) afternoon in Ohio.
Fifth-seeded Ferris State will face the top-seeded Lakers for the third time this season in the second semifinal at 7 p.m. (ET) on Friday.
The first semifinal will pit number two seed Michigan Tech against third-seeded Saginaw Valley State beginning at 4 p.m. (ET). The winners of the two respective semifinals will then meet in the tournament championship match on Sunday (Nov. 4) beginning at 1 p.m. (ET) in Allendale.
Tickets will be sold at the entrance on gameday and are $7 for adults, $5 for senior citizens and children along with $3 for students with a valid ID card.

The Bulldogs suffered a 1-0 road loss at GVSU in non-league action on Sept. 12 in Allendale before the Lakers recorded a 3-0 GLIAC victory over FSU in Big Rapids on Oct. 6. Grand Valley State was a 6-1 winner at home over eighth-seeded Northwood in Tuesday's quarterfinals.
Ferris State, which is making its fifth all-time GLIAC Tournament appearance in school history and third consecutive showing, owns a 9-6-3 overall record to date this year.
Meanwhile, the Lakers are presently 16-1-2 overall this season after reaching the NCAA Division II National Championship game a season ago.
